Not found on 1881 or 1891 census.
In 1901 he was aged 45 and living on his own means at Winchester with Gwendoline, but no apparent children.
He was alive in 1908 when he informed the registrar of his father-in-law’s death.
But this may be his death, though apparently born in 1870.

Possibly a misprint for his birth somewhere?
However there was another Walter Staniford, living in Fulham, aged 41, thus born in 1870 in the 1911 census. I believe this is more likely to be the person who died in 1933.

In 1911 he and his wife were in Christchurch, Bournemouth. He again said he had been born in 1856.
