Birth28 Dec 1770
Death14 Dec 1832
Generalyst s., 7th even. 1st bt: 1814.
Notes for Vice-Adml Sir Henry (Burke) or Hugh (CP) Blackwood Bart
m. (1) Jane Mary Crosbie (dsp 1798), (2) Eliza Waghorn (d. 1802), w/1 s., (3) Harriet Gore w/1s, 2d (d. 1855).
CP calls him Hugh Martin but Martin was the second forename of his second father-in-law and it looks unlikely that he would have had that as his forename. However his son Henry Martin might well have been called such. So, for a very rare event, I am tending to believe Burke rather than CP; Burke clearly calls him Henry Blackwood, KCB, GCH.
Burke says that he was the bearer of despatches announcing the victory of Trafalgar.
