Notes for Catherine Hallifax
Interestingly the 1879 edition of Burke’s LG says that John Saville Hallifax had only two daus: Maria, dead by 1879 and Ellen, the occupier of Chadacre Hall in 1879. Yet the TImes notice of 1854 clearly says that Catherine was the eldest dau. of Rev John Savile Hallifax. Currently I suspect Burke’s informant had something wrong.
Catherine’s marriage is definitely on FreeBMD for the right quarter, but of course this does not say who her father was.
