Notes for Alexander Cockburn
m. (1) Elizabeth de Crichton, (2) Margaret de Dundas (who probably dsp).
His sons were Alexander who dvp between 1482 and 1492, William the surv. heir and Christopher whose line continued in Choicelee, Caldra, Ryslaw and Cockpen, etc.
Unfortuantely “The Cockburn Family Records” does not make it clear who his father was of the many preceding Alexander Cockburns. And further they have cast severe doubts on the more explicit genealogy in Cockburn-Hood’s book.
His death can only be surmised as between 1492 when he was alive, his son Alexander was dead and his 2nd son William was described as heir and the latest date of 1507 when William had been knighted and was definitely of Langton.
