Notes for Richard de Camville
m. (1) Alice and (2) Melisende (q.v., widow of Robert (I) Marmion) but it is not known who was the mother of which of his children. However DNB, 2nd edition of 2004, reports, in the article on Richard II de Camville, that he and Alice had Gerard and he and Millicent had Richard.
He also had a dau. Matilda who m. a Wm. de Ros and received the manor of Hildersham (which manor was in Domesday) (see CP X, Appx J, p. 112, note (j) ). (Which Wm. de Ros?)
He died while part of the negotiating team for the marriage of Henry II's dau. Joan to Wm. king of Sicily.
