Notes for Sir Edmund Hampden
The descendants of this Edmund are taken from the 1634 Visitation. However a very different set are given in Lipscomb’s “Bucks”, Vol II, and are:

William = Audrey. 1st dau. of Richard hampden of Great Kimble and they had:

John Hampden, 1st s, plus other children.
John Hampden m. Elizabeth dau. of Sir Edward Ferrers of Baddesley, Warks; he d. 1565
and they had:

A son Griffith and a dau. Sybil who m. Robt Williams of Kimble.
Griffith, d. 27 Oct 1591, m. (1) N. N. and (2) Anne, dau. of Anthony Cave of Chicheley and they had three osns and fie daus:

Sons: (1) William, (2) Edward, (3) John who d. inf.; Daus: Elizabeth m. Sir jerome Horsey, Dorothy m. Robert Hateley, Ruth m. (1) Edward Oglethorps, (2) Sir Philip Scudamore, (3) henry Leigh, Mary m. N. N. Russell and Anne to Robert Waller. William the eldest m. Elizabeth Cromwell and d. 2 April 1597 and his offspring now fall in with the Visitation.
