Notes for William Hamilton
William is only reported in John Anderson's "Historical and Genealogical Memoirs of the House of Hamilton", Edinburgh 1825. As yet there is no known documentation of his lifetime that mentions him.
He is also reported to have married Margaret dau. of William Baillie of Lamington and they had, in addition to their son James, a dau. Elizabeth who m. Wm. Mure of Glanderstoun.

Aug 2004, TFPL: From "House of Hamilton", pp. 730-5 by Lt-Col George Hamilton, pub 1933 in Edinburgh. there is some evidence found that his wife was Margaret Baillie, so she is now properly entered.
