Notes for Lorna Margaret Hamilton
With her supposed birth date from Burke’s LG, a further search on FreeBMD produced nothing, however this did reveal that there were no entries at all for any Hamilton in the whole of the third quarter of 1889. Most odd. Eventually found that the reason was that they had all been transcribed as ‘Hamiltom’, ending with an ‘m’, all 50 or so of the entries for that quarter; I’ve reported this to FreeBMD.
But I still could not find anything that promised firmly to be her birth, not even a ‘Female’.
The 1901 census reveals that she and her siblings were all born in the West Indies so not in the births of FreeBMD.

I suspect I need to access a Scottish BMD site to find out about their issue.

In 1939 they were at "The Linke" St Giles Hill, Winchester M.B., Hampshire:

(I imagine that Patrick was a son. There is a Patrick B H Home birth in Medan Sumatra in some Overseas index of such. And the same married a Ruth N Brown in Cairo in 1942. And Patrick Bruce Hamilton Home was commissioned at a Flying Officer in 1933-4, giving as Home Address of The Links, St Giles Hill, Winchester, Hants with a father of G. Home. Sounds like he is definitely their son.)
