Notes for Elizabeth de la Plaunche
m.(1) Sir John de Bermingham & (4) Sir John Russell.
Dugdale in his Antiquities of Warwickshire, p. 454, says she had 4 husbands: (1) Sir John Bermingham, (2) Sir John Russell, (3) Sir John Clinton and (4) Robert Lord Grey of Rotherfield. CP puts the same four in the order 1, 4, 3, 2.
By an inquisition held at Wendover, Bucks on 21 Nov, 2 Hen VI (1424), it was found that her heir, though probably to nothing was William Lucy aged 22 and up, who was the son of Alice [Hugford?], daughter of margery, daughter of James, son of John, sister [sic] of William, father of William, father of William, father of the aforesaid Elizabeth (Lipscomb’s Bucks, Vol IV, pp. 193-4).
