TFPL, Mar 2007: In the 1871 census she is clearly named Catharine, the head of the house as her husband died a few months previously and living in the rectory at Kingsland.  Staying with her was her niece Emily Harford Hallifax.  There were also two servants resident in the house.  While her birth place was correctly given as Richards Castle, Shropshire, her age is fairly clearly shown as 40, when she was in fact 60.  Looks like a few things to check up on!  She was 60 in the census form, badly transcribed.

I can see no evidence of any children.  However there are hundreds of Evans children registered in the Leominster district from 1830 on; but Evans is a very common name.

Perhaps the answer is to get his or her will or both.  But I strongly suspect those will confirm my view that they were childless, so will forego the expense.

A question is why they married at Warwick.  But her mother had died in 1814 and her father followed in 1837, and I’m not sure who she and any siblings might then have been living with.
