Notes for William Bartholomew
In the 1881 census he as living at 31 Kingston St, St Andrew the Less, Cambridge with his wife and (wife's?) cousin; he was 32, born in Newmarket, Cambs and a Turf Agent.

In the 1901 census he was living at The Poplars, Grantchester, Cambs with his wife and (her?) cousin (Alice M Reynolds, now a manager of refreshment and just "A Reynolds" in the 1881 census), aged 52, born in Newmarket, Cambs and living on own means.

In 1919 when he died he was still living at Grantchester but his will, of Sept 1901, has no mention of his wife nor of Alice Reynolds so they had probably both died before him and even before Sept 1901.

I cannot find any details of his marriage on FreeBMD, neither to a Reynolds nor to an Elizabeth.

In the 1911 census he was retired, living on own means, aged 63, born in Newmarket Suffolk, married with no children ever.  They were still living at the Poplars, Grantchester.
