Notes for Sarah Amelia Martin
She has been difficult to account for as a child of her parents.
I begin to wonder if she started life as Emily and became Sarah and at the end of her life was Amelia:
In 1836, 21 April, she was baptised as Sarah Emily, born at Pendleton, baptised and Eccles and living at Eccles.
In 1851 she was not with her parents
In 1861, an Emily was with her mother, born in 1836 in Manchester. Her sisters Mary and Jane were also there in Belvedere House.
In 1871, Emily alone was with her mother and born in 1836 in Manchester.
In 1881 she was with her husband at 32 Wimpole St, London, aged 45 and born in Pendleton, Lancs. So she was born c. 1835 and was said to be the youngest daughter of C W Martin (and Sarah Charlewood, daughter of jane Ferrand???).
In Jun 1904 a Sarah Amelia Amphlett m. either a Richard Herbert Gilbert or a Bryan Holme Holme in Tunbridge dist. Was this her? There are too many Gilbert and Holme deaths and 1911 census entries to answer this.
I think she changed her name a bit as the years wen past!

And she was eventually found in the 1911 census, retaining her first married name, probably because it had ‘Lady’ prefixed to it!
