In 1851 he was at Town Gate, Bradford, Yorkshire & Yorkshire, unmarried, with two visitng relatives, Richard Exroyd Payne and Daniel Peckover, a mere five servants.
In 1861 he was living at Heaton Hall, Back Lane, Heaton, Bradford, Yorkshire with a large household of six servants, unmarried and a Banker and Fund Holder.
In 1871 he was living at Longwood, Bingley, Keighley, Yorkshire, unmarried, a retired banker and with with six servants but with a niece Mary Ann Harris, aged 54 and born in London, with him.
