Notes for Major John Busfeild
His birth cannot be found on FreeBMD unless he was, unlikely, the ‘Male Busfield’ born in Bradfield district in Q4 of 1839. In the 1881 census he is reported to have said he was born in ‘Inglefiled [sic], Berks’ which must have been Englefield and is indeed within the registration district of Bradfield.
His birth index on the new GRO index with mother’s maiden name, noting the surname mis-spelling:

Notes for John & Caroline Christiana (Family)
The FreeBMD record of their marriage has them both as ‘Busfield’; however this was correctly copied from the index so the error is in the index itself.
