What happened to him? Why do we know nothing of him? Was he an idiot?
Certainly he did not inherit when his father died in 1889, so he must have died by then.

Feb 2007, TFPL: Alastair Downes came up with an entry for him in the Death index for Jun qtr of 1877, and aged 28 so it must be him.
But I would still like to know somehting of what he did in his 28 years; it is suprising that J.A.B. put nothing about him in his book, though he did publish the book two years before Hugo died.

July 2007, TFPL: I’m trying to find his birth on FreeBMD but can find nothing. I have tried various versions of his surname and even no surname at all, just ‘Hugo’ and for all of the West Riding, but still no entry. Finally I have looked for all Hugo with no surnames in all of England, and still found nothing from Q1 of 1840 to Q4 of 1860. I give up! His birth is not on FreeBMD.
