Notes for Harriet Powys
In 1851 she and her two sisters were with their widowed uncle Thomas Powys in Westwood Hall, Cheddleton, Staffordshire. I wonder if they were escaping their mother’s second marriage?
In 1891 census they were in Wales:

Turbett Harriett 59 Wife Swansea, Wales
Williams Martha 28 Servant Cook Domestic Servant Mold, Wales

In 1901 they were near Chester and, interestingly, had a nephew Thomas Greenwood with them, undoubtedly the son of Harriet’s sister Helen:

_______________
In the 1911 census, she had a visitor with her from India and theee servants, but she did not report if she had had any children. It sounds as if there had been none; the fact that she entered “one” for her widowed housekeeper and nothing for herself, indicates she had had none.. She was still in Field House, Hoole village, which had 14 rooms.
______________
After her death her GWR shares, all £13075-3-4 of them, were transferred to her cousins/nephews (and executors) Henry Powys Greenwood of Whitsbury House, Salisbury, Hants and Edward Wyndham Penruddock of Wiltshire Lodge, Bransgore, Christchurch, Hants.
