Notes for Sir Francis Brian Hill
m. (1) Joanna Falbe (w/son), (2) Emily Lissey Powys.
Burke reports that the Hills of Court of Hill are descended from an ancestor of this family of Hills.
Francis Brian’s grandfather Sir Rowland Hill, the first baronet, m. for his second wife, Mary, widow of Thomas Powys of Berwick and dau. of German Pole, Mary dsp with all her hsubands.
Rowland is a common forename in this family. I wonder if there is any connection to Rowland Hill, the inventor of postage stamps?
