Probably MA of Caius Coll, Cantab.
Probably held also the living of Northwold, Norfolk.
Probably also the W.C.J. who was honorary canon of Norwich.
Probably the W.C.J in vol 5 of Crisps Visitation of England who was rector of Northwold and hon can of Norwich and m. Marianne, dau. of John Staniforth Pattison of Cringleford, Norfolk and had an elder surviving dau. Catharine Cowper Johnson who m. Wm Mowbray Donne at Northwold on 1 Sep 1877.

Rector of Yaxham: 1843-1880
Rector of Northwold: 1880-1892
Hon Canon of Norwich: 1890.

The executors of his will were his son Wm Cowper J and his son-in-law, Charles Francis Powys.

His father was John Johnson (1769-1833), rector of Yaxham and said (Crisp’s Visitation) to be ‘Cousin of the Poet Cowper and the original of “Johnny”’.  Currently (Dec, 2010) I can find no information for this cousinship.

He is mentioned a couple of time in the Book “Letters of Lady he'sketh to the Rev John Johnson” by Catharine Bodham Johnson, pub Jarrold in 1901.
