Notes for Agnes Crane
She m.(2) Edward Clere of Ormesby: see Burke's Extinct Baronetcies, p. 118.
But in the Crane article of baronetcies, p. 140, she is called Bridget and she is said to have married (1) Francis Cluxton, (2) John Warburton, (3) Christopher Heydon and (4) Sir Edward Clere. Her mother is shown as Bridget, dau of Sir Thomas Jermyn of Rushbrooke.
And in the Suffolk Visiation (a scholarly one) she is the 4th daughter of Robert Crane and Birdget, dau. of Sir Thomas Jermyn of Rushbrook. Agnes is there given as marrying:
(1) John Smythe of Halesworth and Corton,
(2) Francis Clopton of Melford (d. c. Apr. 1579, no issue, p. 27 of Suffolk Visit'n),
(3) Sir Christopher Heydon of Baconsthorpe, Norfolk,
(4) Sir Edward Clere of Blickling and Ormesby, Norfolk.
I'll go for this Visitation version...
