Thomas was a bit of a spendthrift and sold some of the old properties.
The Baronetcy continued at least until 1879, as recorded in G E CoKayne's Baronetage. Sir Louis-John-Francis Twysden was then the new 9th bart in 1879 after his father's death at the age of 90.

His death was witnesswed by his cousin Thomas Lambert who stayed with him for the last four days of his life.
