In the Essex 1558 visitation his ancestry is completely wrong vs John Maclean's; however the 1612 visitation agrees precisely with Jno Maclean.
It seems that his death date of 1504 from a brass on his memorial is wrong. Tony Ingham has produced the following:
Incidentally I noticed you had the North Okendon Poyntz family in your
database. The given year of death for William Poyntz father of John,
his heir and Thomas was incorrectly identified as 1504 from his brass at
North Okendon. He was still alive in 1527. The following record is from

- This looks like c. 1524 to me. (H VIII succeeded in 1509.)
