May 2003: His wife is currently unknown but should be found from their son's birh in 1870 in Caernarvon.
June 2003: His wife was duly discovered to be Annie Parry from their son's birth certificate, though he was actually born in Llandisilio, Anglesea, Wales.  Now for the marriage certificate and then her birth.
July 2003: His marriage certificate says they were married on 24th July 1869 at the church of St George, in parish of Walton on the Hill, Everton, Lancs:

His name, etc: Alexander Kenyon Trotter, of full age, bachelor, a bookkeeper of Liverpool, father = William Trotter, a gentleman.
Her name, etc: Annie Parry, a minor, a spinster, of Kirkdale, father = Lewis Parry, a mason.
Minister: J U Swift
Witnesses: Thomas Buckley Jones, Catherine Griffiths.

July 2003: His death certificate was registered No 99 on 13 May 1891 in the Wivenhoe sub-district of Lexden and Winstree, Essex.
Date of death: 11 May 1891 in Wivenhoe RSD
Age at death: 45
Occupation: Shipbuilder
Cause: Cirrhosis of Liver Haematemicis Syncope [?], cert by Thomas Johnson MRCS
Informant: A W L Trotter, son, present at death.

In the 1891 census he was living at No 3 Rectory Road, Wivenhoe near Harwich, Essex with his son and a housekeeper and housemaid, the latter two being either sisters or mother and daughter.  He was a shipbuilder aged 45, and born in Wimbledon, Surrey.  He said he was Married; if his wife had died he would have been a widower, but there is no sign of her anywhere there.

Will notes for Alexander Kenyon Trotter (born BROWN)
His admon of the 6th July 1891 gave his death as 11th May 1891, in contrast to his death certificate of 1st May, said he died at the Nook, Wyvenhoe, Essex but formerly of Acton, Middx.

His executor was his brother Henry E Trotter of Ardington Vicarage, Berks.

In his will of 23rd July 1885, in addition to hie executor, he listed:

Alexander William Lewis Trotter, his son and sole legatee.
His mother, who was to be the sole guardian of his son.

The will was, curiously, witnessed by William Trotter of Epson, his father, and Wm Sampson Trotter, also of Epsom.

His personal estate was £11,425 gross and resworn in Nov 1892 to £12,558.
