The 1564 Devon Vis’n says that he had a dau. Mary who m. an Edward Gorges; the Gorges were a Somerset family of which one branch seems to have moved to Devon. However Maclean’s Memoirs of the Family of Poyntz places Mary as the dau. of Robert’s son Anthony (p.95). The dates tend to confirm Maclean’s account.
