Notes for Marion Campbell
She is not in The Scots Peerage.
She is in Douglas' Peerage, though, together with her husband James Carmichael:
She is in Burke's Dormant and Extinct Peerage. together with her husband James Carmichael and son Walter; see Notes for James Carmichael.
Might any of these be in Scottish register of births, etc? It might just have started in time.
In RCLPL's tree.
Dec 2004, TFPL: She is in Burke's 19th Landed Gentry, Vol I for Scotland, but with no discussion of any doubt on the matter.

April 2006, TFPL: With the achievement of estbalishing that the Trotters had a very well documented from the Scots great and the good via Margaret Cockburn of Langton, there was no longer any temptation to hang on to Marion Campbell’s ancestry. I therefore asked Diane Baptie to see if she could find any documents to justify that Marion was the daughter of Sir Hugh Campbell and Elizabeth Stewart, both of Loudoun. She found nothing, so I am forced to delete this connection.
This deletion lost 11 ancestors. The addition of Margaret Cockburn’s ancestors gained 262. Honour has to be satisfied!.
