Notes for Ann Wells
Ann Wells was her husbands first cousin, according to Alexander Greenwood's book.  Not found the link between her father Edward and Charles' mother Sarah yet.  Brother and sister presumably?  The fact is seeming more and more doubtful, as Sarah Wells' father was John (not Paul or previously Edward as AAG had it) and came from Great Milton and no relationship has been found to the Wallingford Wellses.

She was given a lagacy in the will of her grandfather Edward Wells:

“ITEM I give and bequeathe to my granddaughters ANNE and SARAH, the daughters of my said son EDWARD WELLS, the legacy or sum of £50 a piece”

This is the only indicator of the relationship of Ann to her father and grandfather.

There were three Ann Greenwood burials from 1785 to 1817 and I have chosen the one that corresponds with Alex Greenwoods book.  It is not guaranteed to be right.  There may be a family bible or newspaper or grave inscription to confirm his ascription.

Will notes for Ann Wells
Her will, in the PRO and of which I have a copy, was dated 21 Feb 1888, leaving her estate to her six daughters and appointing as executor her brother John Wells who in fact died before his sister.  Accodingly Ann's daughter Mary was givien the power to admisinster the estate on the 30th July 1808.

She died 20 years after her husband and only mentioned him in her will by calling herself ‘widow’.
