On her death certificate, she was “Annie Elizabeth Greenwood”, the place is rather illegible and may be “York Grove”, she was 80, the widow of Thomas Greenwood, Gentleman and the informant, on the 4th May, was her son, T F Greenwood who was present at the death and lived at 38 Appleton Gate, Newark.

Will notes for Ann Elizabeth Sheen
Her probate index:
GREENWOOD Anne Elizabeth
Personal Effects inder £2,000
Resworn March 1881 under £3,000.
4 November [1880] The Will of Anne Elizabeth Greenwood late of Newark-upon-Trent in the County of Nottingham Widow who died 8 May 1880 at Newark-upon-Trent was proved at the Principal Registry by Thomas Frederick Greenwood of Newark-upon-Trent the Son and Michael James Tebay of Worcester in the County of Worcester Gentlemen the Executors.
James Tebay was the son of her sister-in-law, Emily née Greenwood, (I think).
Thomas Frederick informed the registrar of his mothers death on 4th May. So how did she resurrect to die again on 8th May? Sounds like he forgot when his mother died?
_________________
In the will dated 8th August 1876, she listed:
‘My son Thomas Frederick Greenwood of Newark upon Trent’,
‘Michael James Tebay of Worcester, Gentleman’,
‘My daughter Annie Phillis Powys’,
‘My son Charles Sheen Greenwood’,
‘My son William Augustus Greenwood’,
‘My daughter Emily Tebay the wife of the said Michael James Tebay’ (so he is her son-in-law),
‘Lavinia Greenwood’,
‘Arthur Greenwood’,
It looks like the last two were unmarried.
She wrote of her daughter Annie ‘… being already amply provided for I do not think is necessary for me to make any further provision for her under this my Will’. While this provision was very true, there was no mention of Annie’s misfortune in being deserted by her husband.
