He may have married a Shawe.
Jan 2008, TFPL: He did, according to the ‘Visitation of Ireland’ of c. 1897-1918. She was Cecilia Philippa, dau. of Francis Manley Shawe-Taylor who was younger s. of William Cunliffe Shawe of Southgate House, Hertford [sic] and Phillippa Pole.
Said Visitation includes that Robert Wright was born Doolan, being the 1st s. of Col Richard Doolan of HEICS; his mother was Mary, youngest daughter of Arthur Cope of Loughall. Robert Wright assumed the name and additional arms of Cope by Warrant from Dublin Castle, 14 June 1844.
In Armorial Families, Vol I, p. 428, there is an entry for a John Ralph Obré Cope (b.1879) whose seat was Drumilly, Loughall, Armagh, Ireland. I wonder if they are related?
