Notes for Albinia Elizabeth Cope-Cope
I cannot find her death on FreeBMD for up to 1910.
She was the gt-granddaughter of William Shawe and Phillippa Pole. Her husband was their grandson, so he was marrying a first cousin once removed (and they had only a dau. and she had no children. Unsurprising?).
TFPL, June 2008: I have just been shown, by Bluemantle, a page from the College of Arms’ record books showing a pedigree from Thos Powys of Henley, Salop to Francis Arthur Powys in which it was recorded that after his death, his wife Albinia got a royal licence to change her name to Cope-Powys (or Powys-Cope). It also gave her father’s original surname as he too had had a RL to change to Cope; it seems that the first Cope was a third forename rather than a surname.
If she had any descendants, which it seems she didn’t, it might be worth someone’s while getting transcripts of these RLs.

In The Standard of 1 Jan 1923 was this report:
“Mrs Albinia Elizabeth Cope Powys, of Manor House, Loughall, Co. Armagh, formerly of Tennenhall, Branksome Park, Bournemouth, widow of the Rev. Francis Arthur Powys, who left £21,229, directed that her wedding ring be buried with her.”

Eventually I found her probate entry giving her birth (Death, shurely?) in Switzerland.
