According to Foster’s edition of the 1612 visitation of Yorks, Humphrey signed the pedigree in 1612. This gave 4 clear generations of ancestors of which the first two are, by the usual rule, believable. Humphrey of Gilling was the second sonof Anthony of Rigel Grange who was the second son of Gilbert of Kirkby Thore.
