Abstract of the Will of Richard SLANEY of the parish of St Catherine Cree Church citizen & mercer of London
Dated 3 Apr 1727     Proved 21 May 1729   Admon 20 June 1748

My debts and funeral expenses paid I will and order my remaining clear personal estate shall be divided unto three parts according to the custom of the city of London of which I am a freemen.
I give one part to my wife CATHARINE SLANEY
I give one part unto and among all and every of my children whcih shall be living at my decease or born afterwards being their orphanage or customary part due out of my said estate by the said custom.
The remaining their part of which I have power to dispose of is given as follows:
To my mother Mrs ALICE SLANEY & to my father-in-law Mr ELEAZER HASELL, to my sister Thornburgh & her husband, my sister LADDS and her husband #10 each for mourning rings.
To my executors #9 for three rings for my three nieces, SARAH, BARBARA & MARY SLANEY daughters of my late brother JOHN SLANEY.
To each of my household servants living with me at my decease #5 each for mourning rings.
I give #12 to the managers of the charity school belonging to Mr HARRIS's Meeting in Crutched Fryars.
To my son JOHN SLANEY #1000 being the sum I had with his mother Mrs SARAH HOWARD as her marriage portion.
The residue of my estate I give to my children which shall be living at my decease share and share alike.
I appoint my brothers-in-law Mr LEVI BALL and Mr BENJAMIN LEHOOK joint executors and trustees for all my children.

Proved 21 may 1729 by LEVI BALL & BENJAMIN LEHOOKE Executors named in the will


Admon 20 June 1748 (with will and codicil annexed) of the goods of RICHARD SLANY deceased left unadministered by LEVI BALL & BENJAMIN LEHOOK the executors named in the said will now also deceased was granted to ALICE SLANY spinster, the daughter of the said deceased and one of the residuary legatees named in the said will.
The Admon granted 10 April 1744 to ELIZABETH LEHOOK widow the aunt and curatrix and guardian lawfully assigned to CATHERINE SLANY and the said ALICE SLANY spinsters then minors two of the residuary legatees named in the said will for their use and banafit and untilone of them should attain the age of 21 years being ceased and expired by reason the said ALICE SLANY hath attained the said age.
