TFPL, Jan 2005: From Foster's Grants of Arms, in the College of Arms grant books, Vol XVII fol 49, there was a grant to:
"HALLIFAX ..., of Kenilworth, co. Warw..; Springthorpe, co. Linc.; asnd Mansfield, co. Nottingham, 17... Vol. VVII, fol. 49"
From the introduction to volume II of this series, that grantbook is dated from April 1788 to October 1790, so it looks as if if might have been this Robert Hallifax who obtained the grant. I wonder how much more information there might be in that grant book?

The Times and the Annual Register record that he, with Dr Richard Warren, was appointed physician in ordinary to the prince of Wales on 5th July 1787.
