Notes for Sir John Barrington Bart
The Warks 1619 visitation says that he was 6 years old in 1620, conflicting with the 1605 birth in the Barrington Family History.

From Mark Noble's "Memoirs of the persons and families who by females are allied to or descended from the protectorate-House of Cromwell" pub in 1784:

"Sir John Barrington, bart, was likewise a friend of civil liberty; he was a member of parlement in 1640, for the borough of Newtown; when he saw what lengths his party went, he virtuously, as well as prudently, declined following them, though probably they expected he would go to the extreme length, for he was one of those nominated to sit in the pretended high-court of justice, to try Charles I but he never could be prevailed upon either to attend any of the meetings, or to sign the warrant for the execution of that most unfortunate of sovereigns; probably this did not oblige the republicans, but would endear him to Oliver, when he became possessed of supreme power; who appointed him sheriff of Essex, in 1655; after the restoration, he lived privately till his death, which happened, March 24, 1682.  By Dorothy, daughter of sir William Lytton, of Knebworth, knight, he had five sons and nine daughters.  Lady Dorothy survived  sir John and died october 27, 1703."
______________________________________________________________________

In addition to the offspring listed, he and Dorothy had these children, found in the St Mary’s Hatfeild BroadOak parish registers of burials:
Mary, buried 27 May 1660
Anne, buried 8 Apr 1668
Johana, buried 24 Apr 1670
Dorothy, buried 11 May 1670 and whose Prayer is elsewhere on my site.

And in the Baptish register there is
Johanna bapt 24 Oct 1656
Susan 22 July 1662

Mon Inscripts notes for Sir John Barrington Bart
Jan 2019, TFPL: His MI in St Mary’s Church, Hatfeild Broadoak reads:

Here lyeth the body
of Sr JHB BARRINGTON
Knight & Barronet
Born Jan: 1614
Died March: 24th 1682
Aged 69

This conflicts with the previous information that said he was born in 1605 or even, from the Visitation, 1614\5.  I am preferring this MI and have therefore altered the birth date.
Notes for John & Dorothy (Family)
Family Search has this information:

Cokayne’s Complete Baronetage says the marriage was ‘in or before 1643’.  So I’m taking the Family Search informationn as kosher.
