Henrietta, only dau. and heiress of Thos. Spence of Palgrave, Norfolk, Sgt. at Arms to House of Commons. (In the 1850s the Spence family resided in South Malling, nr. Lewes.)

Probably born April/May 1719.

Her burial:
Text from Registers of St Paul, Covent Garden, pub Harleian 1909, vol V, p. 86:
” June 1771
“June 5 Henrietta Powys from St George Hanover Square in the New Vault”
My guess is that she died in May, then moved to St Geo for a service then moved for burial at St Pauls.
Note that her will index is:
“Will of Henrietta Powys, Widow of Wigmore Street Cavendish Square , Middlesex 31 May 1771 PROB 11/967”

On his Marriage allegation for a Licnec my transcript is:
“ 18th November 1740
Appeared personally Thomas Powys of Lilford in the County of Northampton Esquire aged one and twenty years and upwards and a Bachellor and alledged that he intendeth to marry with Henriatta Spencer of the Parish of St James with the Liberty of Westminster aged upwards of one and twenty years and a Spinster

And that he knoweth of no lawful Let or Impediment by reason of any pr’contract Consanguinity, Affinity, or any other lawfull means whatsoever to hinder the said intended marriage of the truth of which he made Oath and prayed Licence to Solemnize tthe said marriage in the Chapple commonly called Oxford Chapple in .or near the parish of St George Hanover Square in the County of Middx.
