Notes for Thomas VI Berkeley Lord Berkeley |
m.(1) Mary Hastings, (2) Anne Savage. He was betrothed first of all to Katharine Howard but it came to nothing.
In CP II, p. 137 he is reported to be KG, but not in Grace Holmes' book on the Order of the Garter. No correction in XIV... Was it, in fact, KB?
Smyth says that he rented a house at Stone, by the side of the Thams, a mile from Dartford, Kent and died there. CP says that the house was at Stone, nr Aylesbury, Bucks. |
