Of the Lydiard Tregoze family. (EB Royden says his father had been chamberlain to Mgt Beaufort, TKM, which places him to be John St John who m. Alice Bradshaw. An account of the St Johns of Lambeth is awaited from Harold Evans of The Foundaton of Medieval Genealogy; hopefully this will confirm EBR.)

12 June 2004, TFPL: Harold Evans account has arrived and it seems that E B Royden was confused, as we all have been, by the multitudes of Olivers and Johns in the St John family. harold Evans was a known St John scholar and it is his account that I am following.

First this Oliver's parents were John St John and Joan Iwardby.

Second it was not this Oliver who m. Margaret Love but his only surviving son Oliver. The son Oliver and Margaret had the three sons, Nicholas, Oliver and John. E B Royden omitted the son Oliver altogether.
