Might he have been a relation of the Akroyds who married his wife’s Studd cousins, by the Maclean branch?
In 1939 he must have been the J AKROYD at a boarding school in Hastings, b.22 Oct 1930 (the same as on the ship above), with his elder brother Nicholas born 24 Oct 1927.

In 1979 Geoffrey Jackson Akroyd resigned with all the other partners from the business of ‘Knight Frank and Rutley in association with Wheatley Kirk Price & Co, carrying on business as Estate Agents, Surveyors and Valuers at 30 Hanover Sq, London. From London Gazette.

In the London Gazette of 19 Nov 1982, there was this notice:
“Notice is hereby given that Geoffrey Jackson Akroyd, a partner in the firm of Knight, Frank and Rutley, died on 23rd October 1982.”
(Repeated on 14th Jan 1983.)

In his will dated 8th March 1973 he appointed his wife Penelope Ann Georgine Akroyd, Pater Andrew Rollo, solicitor, and David Coleridge to be his executors.
He also listed:
1. Henry David Berens, probably his wife’s brother, as guardian of his and his wife’s children should both he and his wife die before any minor children had reached their majority.
2. “My children” without their names or addresses being specified at all.
3. In the codicil, “my son Mark”.
