`His father was George Edwin Ratcliffe.
Three possible births:
1. `in Q1 of 1916 in Prescot Lancs, mother = Prescot
2. In Q4 of 1915, in Woolwich, London. Mother’s name was Brown
3. In Q4 of 1917 in Bucklow, Cheshire. Mother’s name was Kerfoot. (a tad late)
I think I have found the seoncd of these, then single in the 1911 census. He was born in 1883 in Suffolk amd was a loco Stoker, which sounds a bit like the Transport Engineer of 1943. In 1939 he was a Loco Driver on a Light Rly.
And in Q4 of 1914 an George E Ratcliffe married a Ellen M Brown in Westhampnett dist, Sussex.
