In 1873 Mabel was living, and head of house, in Bideford Cottage, Northam, Devon with her sister Winifred and one servant. Mabel was 38 and Winifred was 37 and both said they were single and born in Chedington.
They were living at The Burn House, Bathavon R.D., Somerset:
