Text of the marriage register:

The Reverend Mr Henry Wigley of the Parish of Claybrooke in the County of Leicester & Mary Ludlam of this Parish were married by Licence May 18th 1756 by Me T Haines Vicar

This marriage was solemnised between us Henry Wigley & Mary Wigley late Ludlam in the Presence of Philip Hacket and Wm Thomas.

The text of the marriage Licence is:

The 6th Day of May 1726

Appeared personally Henry Wigley Clerk and being sworn upon the Holy Evangelists to to depose the Truth upon his Oath deposideth that he is of Uflasthorpe in the parish of Claybrook in the County of Leicester which hath been in the usual place of his abode for four weeks last past aged twenty six years and a Bachelor and intendeth to intermarry with Mary Ludlum spinster aged nineteen years of the Parish of St Martin in the Borough of Leicester which hath been the usual place of her abode for four weeks last past, And that he doth not know or believethere is any lawfull Lett or Impediment by reason of any Precontract, Consanguinity, Affinity or any other lawfull cause whatsoever to Hinder the said Intended marriage, And prayed a Licence to Solemnise the said Marriage in the parish Church of St Martin in the Borough aforesaid

The same day the said Henry Wigley was sworne before me Gerr Gerr Andrews, Tangt
May 6th Appeared Personally Edmund Ludlam of the Parish of St Martin in the Borough of Leicester Gent and made oath that He is the latural and lawfull father of the said Mary Ludlam and doth consent to her marriage with the said henry Wigley
