Aug 2017, TFPL: Martin found Elizabeth as a child of Peter Powys’ first marriage and I found that there was also an Elizabeth born to the second marriage.  I was not sure whether there one of two such Elizabeths, one born before 1850 to the first wife and the other in 1655.

Now I have found this marriage on FamilySearch:

This cannot (famous last words, be the daughter born in 1655 and aged 9 so must have been the first daughter of the first marriage.  No other explanation of what Elizabeth was doing getting married in Cainham makes any sense, certainly I cannot believe she came from another family.

The marriage transcription by FamilySearch is:

The Cainham marriage register pages records, roughly:

“1664
...
Francis Maund & Elizabeth Powys both of the parish of Laystims(???) January 30th”

So this Elizabeth Powys might not have peter for a father and might be of a separate family. Hmmm...

No baptisms of any children found for this couple in Shropshire.

I’ve not followed this any further as I’m not sure Elizabeth the mother is a daughter of Peter Powys.
