It is possibly him as ‘Richard West, Law Student, aged 24’ in the 1851 census, but otherwise he cannot be identified in any census.

On p. 10 of The Times on 11th February 1893, they wrote:
We have to announce the death, yesterday, at Bournemouth, of the Rev. Richard Temple West, vivar of St Mary magdalene, Paddington, one of the most prominent and respected of the High Church Clergy of the metropolis. Mr West was a son of the late Mr J M West, a Commissioner of Bankruptcy, his mother being a daughter of the Earl of Orford. He was a brother of Sir Algernon West. Mr West was educated at Christ Church, Oxford, taking his degree in 1849. He was ordained in 1853, and after serving several country curacies became curate of All Sainsts, Margaret Street, in 1860. In 1865 he was appointed to the vicarage of St Mary Magdalene, Paddington and in 1874 received the degreee of D.C.L. from the University of the South, U.S.A. Mr West was a member of the council of Keble College.
