In the 2002-6 Electoral registers in Devon he was living in Devon and said he had been there for 23 years; with him was Polly Evers, clearly the lady he married in 1988.

There are six Evers births with mothers’ maiden names of Hughes.  Two of the births were three months apart in 1949 Cheltenham and Barnstaple, so there must have been two separate Evers-Hughes families.  As it was clear from the electoral rolls that they were living in Devon for 23 years prior to 2006, I am concluding that Stephen A Evers’ family was the one with births registered in Barnstaple, Devon.
