In 1909 there is a marriage entry in Reading for a Frederick George Cobb who may have married Rosa Hackett (or he married Alice Rose).  It is unlikely that this is for him but it might just be worth splashing out on a marriage certificate.  No birth can be found for a Rosa hackett anywhere near Oxfordshire,  Let alone Rosa May Hackett.

Ther are two Cobb births in Banbury from 1911 to 1921, both with the mother’s maiden name of Puffet:

But no birth of the Puffet mother with forenames of Rose may can be found in 1889 in England.  Nor is there any marriage between a Cobb and a Puffet.  So I cannot be sure the above two children are those of George Powys Cobb, much as the forename plus initials of the son look like those of George’s sibling.  Get one birth certificate first?

In fact the will of Rose May Cobb, widow, is clear about these two, they are her offspring, being names in the will on 19 Feb 1951:

  Geoffry Richard Wheatly Cobb
  Rose Wheatly Cobb.

Additionally in her will she named a grandson:

  Ian Geoffry Cobb

So these three are all descendants of Powys of Berwick.
