He wrote both a Will and a codicil:
On 9th December 1949, hiw will was:
I William Douglas Grant of the Carlton Club St James London S.W.1. a Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) in His Majesty’s Army hereby revoke all testimentary dispositions hereforfore made by me and declare this to be my last will.
Subject to the payment of my funeral and testimentary expenses and debts which will all duties shall be paid primarily out of my personal esatate I give all my real and personal estate to Mlle Leone Victorine Emilie Boileau absolutely and appoint her to be the sole exectrutrix of this my will.
On 29th August 1951, his codicil was:
I William Douglas Grant of The Carlton Club St James SW1 a Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) in His Majesty’s Army declare this to be a codicil to my will which is dated the ninth day of December one thousand nine hundred and forty nine.
1. I give to my wife’s a legacy of one thousand pounds free of duty as a mark of appreciation of the many happy years we have had together and all her goodness and kindness during that time.
2. In all other respects I confirm my will.
