In 1901 he was at school in Eastbourne, age 12, born in Anglesea [sic], Hants.
In 1911 he was a Lieutenant in HMS Isis, single, aged 22 and born in Alverstoke Hants.
He served in the battle of Jutland and was commended in the London Gazette of 15 Sept 1916 and also received the French Croix de Guerre.

There is a memoir of him, in The Northern Times of 13 Nov 2015 as living in Porthomack (where?) with his wife, he spoke of being on HMS Warrior at Jutland, which was sunk in the battle, He had a daughter Jos who lived in Jedburgh.
