Notes for William Maidens
Their first daughter Elizabeth Ann died in childbirth in Dec 1932. This was followed four years later by her husband, leaving the three grandchildren as orphans in 1936.
William’s son-in-law died in Boston, so he probably took his family back there from Beaminster where he had been living. If so, who might have looked after the children on his death? Possibly one of his wife’s siblings or his mother-in-law Fanny Maidens, though by 1939, William Maidens was a widow and living in a workhouse.
