In 1861 he was a student at St John’s College, Cambridge

In 1871 he was a curate lodging in a lodging house in Camberwell Grove, St Giles Camberwell, London.

In 1881 he was a curate at Goodworth Clatford and married to a Jane A and with five children and 3 servants.

In 1891 he was still a curate and in Dover with Jane Ann and with 5 children and three servants.

He is not to be found on the 1901 and 1911 censuses.
