His half-brother, Robert, explained that his mother’s second husband adopted Roy, whose name was then changed to Twisden-Peareth; Robert also reported Roy’s death as around July 1968. No record can be found of Roy’s death in the British systems and from his son Ewe’s subsequent residence in Germany and Italy, it is probable that Roy died abroad.
I suspect the reason why he was given the hyphenated Twisden-Peareth name is thta it is more difficult to change forenames than surnames, so it was easier to add the Twisden forename as in fact the first half of the surname.
