An obituary was in The Times of 28th December 1981, outlining a varied career in the forces, journalism and TV.

At the end of this article, it says that he and Val had three sons and two daughters.  I have yet to find the third son, there are only 4 children on The Genealogist and none on Scotland’s People.

However FindMyPast shows this male birth:

But the mother’s maiden name was Brooksbank.

There was a marriage of Thomas E O Arnold Foster and a Brooksbank in Q2 of 1956 in Wharfedale district, W Yorks.

In The Times notice of the wedding on 13 Jan 1955:

MR M ARNOLD-FORSTER AND MISS V H I D MITCHISON
  The marriage took place testerday at St Martin-in-the-Fields of Mr Mark Arnold-Foster, of Eagles Nest, Zennor, Cornwall, only son of the late Mr W E Arnold-Forster and the late Mrs Katherine Laird Arnold-Forster, and Miss Valentine Mitchison, younger daughterr of Mr G R Mitchison, QC, MP and Mrs Mitchison, of 2 Harcourt Buildings, Temple EC4 and Carradale House, Campbeltown, Argyllshire. …

And mentioned that the bridesmaids included these nieces of the bride: Susan Michison and Sally Mitchison.

W E Arnold Forster’s obituary is in the times of 11 oct 1951.  His second wife was the widow of G H L Mallory who died on Everest in 1924.
