No indication of who the mother of his children were, though this was a marriage in Shropshire with a very plausible date:

groom's name: Thomas Cooper
bride's name: Elizabeth Newall
marriage date: 03 Apr 1748
marriage place: Montford,Shropshire,England
indexing project (batch) number: M01526-1
system origin: England-ODM
source film number: 0897302 IT 2, 503509

However Lissey’s marriage transcript on FamilySearch has against the father’s name, that of ‘Elizabeth Cooper’, possibly because her father was dead and Elizabeth was her mother and guardian.  This corroborates the above marriage.

TFPL, Feb 2013: a photocopy of the marriage Allegation was obtained: it clearly says that Elizabeth Cooper was Lissey Ann’s mother and that she, Elizabeth, was a widow.  I therefore reckon the above marriage is Thomas’ and that he married Elizabeth Newall.

What I don’t currently know is when Thomas died, it must have been before August 1770.  Later: The Shropshire Archives provided a print of the page from the film of the register showing his burial entry for 9 Nov 1769.

TFPL, later in Feb 2013: He was buried on 5 Nov 1769; the Shropshire record office found this in the parish registerr.
